Does your pilot look similar to this? If so more than likely your gas logs are in or going into what’s called “Safety Shut Down Mode (SSDM). You have may already noticed if your gas logs would only run for about five minutes maybe longer or sooner and out of nowhere just shut off. A lot of times you’re able to restart the pilot and it happens again. This is a very important matter that the O.D.S system (oxygen depletion system) must be cleaned out. The O.D.S system has an orifice inside your pilot and its smaller than a human hair. We use special equipment to clean the O.D.S system and with care not to cause any static electricity that could energize the orifice bore and cause future clogs.

In 1974, my grandfather James C. Hardin founder of Craft Stove with a simple mission: to bring warmth and quality craftsmanship into people's homes. I joined the family business in 1989, learning the trade from the ground up and seeing how much a reliable hearth means to a family.

Today, we’ve grown and evolved. While our roots remain in those early days of wood-burning stoves, we have merged to become a leader in large-scale gas log repair.
